The Leukaemia Foundation has disease information booklets and fact sheets available to download and can also direct you to your local Support Services Coordinator who may be able to assist you further.

Detailed informtion on all sorts of cancers can be found at the University of Bonn Patient Information site . This contains heaps of useful information and treatments, although it is American and treatments may differ in Australia

Support Groups in NSW.

The Life Force Cancer Foundation has support groups for cancer patients in many locations around Sydney.

The Myeloma Foundation of Australia has a great site full of information about Myeloma.

Liverpool Haematology Education and Support Group - meets monthly, 3rd Tuesday of the Month 10.20-12 noon at Liverpool Hospital. For more details please contact the Haematology Social Worker, Liverpool Hospital on 9828 6716.

Organisations for assisting children.

Camp Quality Camp Quality is a non-profit organisation committed to providing hope and happiness for every child living with cancer, their families and communities through ongoing recreational and educational programs. Their web site has all the information you need for the camps, how to apply and other information.


The Starlight Children's Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated tod brightening tyhe lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children and t heir families throughout Australia. Starlight grants wishes to children aged between 4 and 18 years old with a serious, critical or chronic condition. See our web site for full details and contact information.

Financial and Practical Help for Bone Marrow Transplant patients and their families.

The Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund provides services for children and their families, giving emotional, financial, practical and educational support.

The Leukaemia Foundation has a charter to assist all people (patients and their families) living with blood and marrow cancers. Through their mission to care they provide and extensive range of support services for people living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other malignant illnesses. They provide assistance with transport, accomodation during treatment for patients and families who need to relocate closer to treatment centres, education programs and support groups.

The Corporate Angel Network of Australia is an air transport service which assists patients and their families with free air transport between home and their treatment centres, and includes Bone Marrow Donors. Its patron is Dr Heather Parker, BA MD FRACGHP, a medical practitioner and pilot.

The Life Force Cancer Foundation provides Life Force 'Angels' for practical assistance.

Where you can donate toward cancer research.

The Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation is a key fundraiser for Bone Marrow Transplant Services specifically, rather than cancer in general. The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic is one of their major events which has been raising money for cancer research for the last 25 years. This event alone has raised over half a million dollars for the Arrow Foundation over the last 7 years. You can partner with the Arrow Foundation here to support their work. The Foundation supports research staff at the Garvin Institute, Darlinghurst, and many other projects in support of improving treatment for cancer patients and finding a cure for cancer.

The Leukaemia Foundation offers research grants to scientists and health professionals conducting research pertinent to haematological malignancies and also has its own research facility in QLD.

The Cancer Council NSW has a comprehensive web site with many excellent resources and suggestions for fund raising activities or targetted donations.

The Cure Cancer Australia Foundation has some great information and brochures to download on where to donate.
